I knew a camera like this would come along some day.Purchased in May, 2oo6, soon after it was released, along with the 17-85 zoom with image stabliser. So now i can almost get a clear shot handheld at 1/40th of a second.
A brand new world. Yet not that difficult to ease into, since the basics and controls are reminiscent of my other 2 Canons.(Like custom functions, for example)
All my old lenses work with this camera. I have had it 6 months at the time of this writing. Very solid and versatile. I never did buy myself one of those digital snapshot cameras, although i was pretty impressed with the resolution. But now i can change lenses and do all the things i used to do with my film cameras, and more. So i guess you could say that i'm a happy customer. There are some very interesting options for black and white shots too. with an internalized system of filtering your shots...high contrast with a red filter effect, etc....
I had to buy a new computer to be able to download all the images I ve been taking though. But, I was overdue anyway.
